If you’re looking for a delicious, easily made dessert without spending a lot of time in a hot kitchen, consider making this Easy Banana Cream Pie. I often make it for birthdays in lieu of cake, and it’s always been a huge success (a la no leftovers).

hourWhen short on time, I’ve used these packaged ingredients to speed up my prep. For all the go-getters with skills, and or more extreme food allergies, making your pudding, whipping cream, and pie crust from scratch is preferred. Time permitting one day I’ll create this recipe completely from scratch – in the meantime, here’s the easy version.
Ingredients
1 pkg Jell-O Banana Cream Cook & Serve Pudding (not instant)
2 cups milk (or milk substitute, ex. almond milk)
5 bananas (semi-ripe)
2 cups whipping cream of choice (can use non-dairy)
1 Mi-Del Graham Style pie crust (gluten free)
Directions
- Remove the plastic cover on the graham cracker pie crust, put aside.
- Cut bananas into small, thin slices. Arrange the slices along the bottom of the graham cracker pie crust.
- Prepare the Jell-O Banana Cream Cook & Serve Pudding per package directions. When pudding is almost thickened, add the remaining banana slices while stirring constantly on the stove.

- Remove from heat, cool 5 minutes, and pour the banana pudding mixture into the graham cracker pie crust. Place the plastic pie cover upside down to cover the pudding and refrigerate at least one hour.
- Top your delicious Easy Banana Cream Pie with Cool Whip or any gluten-free whipped topping of your choice, and voila! Keep refrigerated until serving.
Notes
- Another option for a ready-to-use pie crust is the Wholly Gluten Free pie crust, sold in a 2-pack, in the frozen sections at many grocery stores.
